Why crews live on Hisingen
Almost all of Gothenburg's heavy industry, automotive work, port and shipyard activity sits on Hisingen. The Volvo Cars plant in Torslanda, the Volvo Group site in Lundby, Lindholmen Science Park, the Port of Gothenburg with Skandiahamnen and Älvsborgshamnen, and the maintenance and construction projects along Norra Älvstranden — all on the same island.
That decides where the crew should sleep. A team living on the mainland with a six o'clock shift queues at the Hisingsbron bridge, the Lundby tunnel or the Älvsborg bridge along with everyone else. Living on Hisingen, the same trip is a few minutes by car or one tram ride — every morning, for the whole project.
We own apartments in all eleven districts on Hisingen, from new builds in Kvillebäcken to affordable three-room flats in Biskopsgården and house-style living in Torslanda. You pay one price per bed, and everything is included.
Living on the right side of the river
Hisingen connects to the rest of Gothenburg via the Hisingsbron bridge, the Lundby tunnel, the Älvsborg bridge and the Marieholm tunnel. All four are heavily loaded at rush hour, and it is the single most common reason companies move their housing here after the first project.
From Lindholmen the river shuttle reaches Stenpiren in the city centre in a few minutes, and the eastern parts of the island — Kvillebäcken, Backa, Kyrkbyn — have trams and buses straight into town. The western parts, Torslanda and Björlanda, are built around the car and have what the inner city lacks: room to park the van.
What it costs
We price per bed and month. Furnishing, electricity, heating, water, wifi, linen, a washing machine in the apartment and the final clean are all included — nothing is added afterwards. Crews usually share a three- or four-room apartment, while site managers and relocating families get their own.
We own every apartment ourselves. There is no property owner taking their rent first and no middleman adding a margin, which is why the same standard costs less with us.

- Västra and Östra Biskopsgården and Kärrdalen–Slättadamm sit closest to the quays.
- Norra Älvstranden and the old yards
- Eriksberg and Sannegården are reachable on foot or by bike from Norra Älvstranden.
- Backaplan and the logistics belt
- Backa, Kvillebäcken and Kärra–Rödbo sit on the E6 and Hisingsleden.

Which districts on Hisingen do you have apartments in?
All eleven: Kärra–Rödbo, Backa, Kvillebäcken, Kyrkbyn–Rambergsstaden, Norra Älvstranden, Södra Torslanda, Björlanda, Tuve–Säve, Kärrdalen–Slättadamm, Östra Biskopsgården and Västra Biskopsgården.
Where should the crew live if they work at Volvo in Torslanda?
Södra Torslanda, Björlanda or Tuve–Säve. All three sit on western Hisingen with a short drive to the plant and parking at the door, so a shift change never means going through the Lundby tunnel.
Is there parking for service vans?
On western Hisingen — Torslanda, Björlanda, Tuve–Säve, Kärra–Rödbo — almost always, and it is usually included. On Norra Älvstranden and in Kvillebäcken it is tighter and may cost extra. We tell you which it is before you sign, not after.
How fast can you arrange housing on Hisingen?
You get concrete options within four hours, any day of the week. Because this is where we hold the most apartments, move-in is often possible the same week — we've done three days from first call to keys.
Do you let to private individuals on Hisingen?
No, companies and organisations only. That applies to the whole portfolio, Hisingen included.
